Women in Leadership (WIL) Asia Awards 2012

Award categories

Asia’s Most Woman-Friendly Employer
This award will honour the organisation that understands the societal role of women, actively encourages their women executives to develop their skills as well as grow within the organisation through training programs and other initiatives that will enhance their leadership and professional skills, offering growth opportunities as well as introducing or associating with programs for women internship and employment.

Asia’s Leading Business Woman of the Year
This award will honour the most prominent business woman, regardless of industries. The winner will be judged on the basis of her achievements and active engagements over the last 12 months, career path, leadership and decision-making ability, strategic management skills, corporate philanthropy and other inspirational stories that may have led to the company’s growth.

Asia’s Most Innovative Woman Entrepreneur
This award will honour the leading female entrepreneur who has established an innovative business entity, product or service with strong business fundamentals. The winner will be judged on the basis of innovativeness, passion for her business, entrepreneurship and impact on the overall industry and/or the country.

Asia’s Leading Woman in the Public Sector
This award will honour the female leader for her efforts and initiatives in the public sector that promote the development of women community and advocacy of women rights and women empowerment.

Asia’s Leading Woman in Hospitality
This award will honour a female leader for her outstanding performance, her initiatives and achievements in the hospitality sector that may have led to her company’s growth.

Asia’s Leading Woman in Finance and Investment
This award will honour a female leader for her outstanding performance, initiatives and achievements in the finance and investment sector that may have led to her company’s growth.

Asia’s Leading Woman in Healthcare
This award will honour a female leader for her her outstanding performance, initiatives and achievements in the healthcare sector that may have led to her company’s growth.

Asia’s Leading Woman in Media
This award will honour a female leader for her outstanding performance, initiatives and achievements in the media sector that promotes the well-being and involvement of women in various activities in Asia.

 

Women in Leadership (WIL) Asia Awards 2011

 

Awards Criteria

The main awards criteria for the selection are:

Business impact: sales; cost; profitability; competitive edge; response to change in market conditions

Innovativeness: new ideas; solutions; creative problem solving; outside-of-the-box approach

HR Skills: impact on work culture; the extent to which the initiative’s complexity or difficulty had to overcome the context of the organisation

Personal characteristics: outstanding mentor; leadership skills; tactful; influence people development; extraordinary performer in difficult times

 

Evaluation and Judges

  • All nominations are treated with confidence and are only seen by the judging panel.
  • Judging panel includes high profile women leaders from multiple sectors including a reputable media, leading consultant, international association and renowned female leader.
  • The jury will screen all entries and supporting materials based on the above mentioned criteria. Applications will be screened and shortlisted by the ‘1st Tier Jury Panel’. Then a short-list of the best entries will be created, consisting of a maximum of 3 entries for each category, which will be presented to the final judging panel for further screening.
  • Only initiatives that were undertaken or became effective within the last 12 months will be evaluated for the awards.

NOTE:

  • All award categories apply to nominees who have demonstrated the qualities required in their respective categories within the last 12 months.
  • Nominees must include supporting evidence, testimonials, press, articles and any references to support their entry.
  • The judges score each category out of a total of 100 points (points can only be allocated in whole numbers).
